The Artist~ Renee L Ford
The beauty in the world inspires me. The imperfections intrigue me. I
continually explore the idea of creating simple forms rich with
textures. I will never tire of the challenge to create. It brings me
too much joy to ever stop. Having been blessed with two amazing
children, they help me remember that the simple things in life are what
make me most happy. I am thankful for them letting me join in the
discovery of the world through their eyes.
Ever since my first metalsmithing class in college, I have been making jewelry. I feel very fortunate to be still making jewelry after 22 years. I love what I do & try to express that in what I make. I continually explore new techniques, styles & methods of creating. I enjoy the process of creating the jewelry as much as the end result. Gemstones of all kinds draw my eye. I often design around a stone versus designing a piece then choosing the stone. Nature is an extraordinary artist so I choose to use the natural gemstones it has given us. Many of my one of a kind designs focus on semi translucent & opaque gemstones like agates & jaspers. My love for gemstones has become a bit of a addiction, so my collection is large & varied. I can custom design a piece just for you from one of the hundreds of loose gemstones I have collected.
I owned a bricks & mortar retail store, Blue Moon Jewelry Designs, for over 16 years. Blue Moon Jewelry Designs closed it's doors in October of 2010. The end of this chapter has brought many new opportunities and challenges that I am eagerly embracing. I continue to sell in local shops, online, retail craft fairs and wholesale trade shows.
